it's about time...

for an update!

Things have been going great with raising my support for the trip. I believe I have currently raised around $2000 in support, meaning I only need to raise another $1600 or so to cover the cost of everything.

I'm sending my visa application in tomorrow, prayerfully, that will go through without any hitches.

I don't know if I already posted the dates of my trip, but I will be leaving June 1st and returning August 4th.

I'm really looking forward to the work that the Lord is preparing me to do. I've received a general idea of what I will be doing from day to day. Most of what I will be doing is helping out the missionaries with whatever needs to be done, a lot of day to day tasks to help take the burden off of them. Another portion of my time will be spent in fellowship with members of the community. One of the things I am excited about is the boat trip I will be going on. I really enjoyed our ministry to the small village on the Amazon during my last trip and am looking forward to having the same opportunity to share the love of Christ with another community. I am also extremely thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in Congresso. Congresso is a 3-day event where thousands of people come together to worship our Lord and Creator in a big festival setting. More or less the Christian Carnival. I am excited to see God move in this community. The Brazilian people have such a thirst for Christ and are so passionate about their love for Him. I pray that this passion will rub off on me a little bit. ;)

I am really looking forward to this opportunity to experience what life as a full-time missionary is really all about. I am excited to experience things that God may have for my future. I am willing to do whatever He wants me too, including becoming a full-time missionary.

Please pray that I will come to a new point in my relationship with Christ. I'm looking forward to being removed from many of the distractions of college life. Not having homework, internet access or tv will really allow me to spend a lot of time on my face in front of my Creator.
Please pray that I will be open to receive the many things He has in store for my life.

In Him alone,

Becca
